1 SCOPE

This Part of GB/T 5359 specifies the terms and definitions, regarding the type of vehicles, for motorcycles and mopeds.
This Part applies to motorcycles and mopeds.

2 TERMS OF TYPES

2.1
Motorcycle
“Motorcycle” means the road vehicle with two or three wheels driven by a power unit, which has a maximum design speed exceeding 50 km/h or meets one of the following conditions:
 Its displacement exceeds 50mL if an internal combustion engine is used;
 The maximum continuous rated power of its motor exceeds 4 kW if it is electrically propelled.
However, the following types are not included:
Motor wheelchairs, dedicated for disabled people, of which the parameters such as maximum design speed, complete vehicle kerb mass and overall dimensions comply with relevant national standards and regulations.
