1 SCOPE
This Standard specifies main technical requirements for complete vehicle safety, mechanical safety, electrical safety, fire resistance, flame resistance, radio disturbance characteristics and operating instructions of electric bicycles, and their appropriate test methods.
This Standard applies to electric bicycles.

3 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 3565-2005 and the followings apply.
3.1
Electric Bicycle
“Electric Bicycle” means the two-wheeled cycles, for which the on-board batteries serve as auxiliary energy and which are available for pedaling and can realize electric drive and/or electric aid function(s).
3.2
Fully Assembled Electric Bicycle
“Fully Assembled Electric Bicycle” means, in order to achieve the intended use, the electric bicycles (3.1) equipped with all essential components, including batteries and all accessories explicitly indicated in the operating instructions, but excluding off-board charger.
3.3
Electric Drive
“Electric Drive” means the drive mode, in which the drive energy derives from the on-board batteries and only the electric motor outputs power.
