Measurement Methods of Maximum Net Power of Engines for Motorcycles and Mopeds

1. SCOPE

This standard stipulates the measurement methods of maximum torque and maximum net power of engines for motorcycles and mopeds.

This standard applies to the engines of motorcycles and mopeds.

2. TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

For the purpose of this Standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

2.1. “Net power” means:
the power available on the test bench at the end of the crankshaft or equivalent component at the speed laid down by the manufacturer, together with the accessories listed in Table 1. If the power can be measured only with the gearbox fitted to the engine the efficiency of the gearbox is taken into account;
