Road vehicles—Performance requirements and testing methods for blind spot detection (BSD) system
1 SCOPE
This standard specifies the general requirements, performance requirements and testing methods for blind spot detection (BSD) system of road vehicles.
This standard applies to the Category M and N vehicles equipped with a BSD system.
This standard doesn’t apply to combination of vehicles, articulated buses, or special motor vehicles.

3 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Blind spot detection (BSD)
The function which monitors the driver’s vision of blind spot in real time, and gives alert or warning information when any other road user is present in the blind spot
3.2
试验车辆 subject vehicle
按照本标准要求，进行BSD系统试验的被测车辆。
3.3
相邻区域 adjacent area
位于试验车辆左右两侧并与其相接的区域，见图1。
注：相邻区域是指试验车辆周围车道的区域。相邻区域的位置和大小是根据试验车辆界定的（不考虑车道标记）。
3.4
目标车辆 target vehicle
位于试验车辆相邻区域内的车辆。
3.5
盲区监视范围detection coverage area
由左侧与右侧相邻区域组成的BSD监视区域。
3.6
横向距离lateral distance
试验车辆车身最外缘（不包括外后视镜）与目标车辆车身最外缘（不包括外后视镜）之间的横向距离，见图2。
3.7
纵向距离 longitudinal distance
试验车辆前部位于第九十五百分位眼椭圆的中心与目标车辆最前端之间的纵向距离。见图3。
3.8
转向盲区监视steering blind spot detection
在车辆转向过程中，实时监视驾驶员转向盲区，并在其盲区内出现其它道路使用者时发出警告信息。
3.9
变道碰撞预警 lane changing warning；LCW
在车辆变道过程中，实时监视相邻车道，并在车辆侧/后方出现可能与本车发生碰撞危险的其它道路使用者时发出警告信息。
3.10
自检 self-check
对系统故障进行检查的功能。
4 一般要求
4.1 概述
a) M、N类车辆盲区监视系统在直线行驶状态时，应能探测试验车辆左、右相邻区域内的目标车辆，并在其进入监视范围时发出警告。
b) M2、M3、N2、N3类车辆的盲区监视系统在右转行驶时能够探测试验车辆右相邻区域的目标车辆，并在可能发生碰撞危险时发出警告。
4.2 系统开启与关闭
BSD应具备手动开启或关闭的功能。
手动关闭时，应以符合4.4.2规定的指示信号发出状态指示。
4.3 激活要求
BSD系统处于非激活状态时，系统可检测目标车辆，但不应向驾驶员发出警告。BSD系统激活时，BSD应从非激活状态切换到激活状态。系统至少能通过下列方式之一激活：
a) 启动激活
车辆启动后，系统自动启动并进入激活状态。
b) 最低速度激活
车辆速度达到系统设计的最低激活车速时系统自动激活。
c) 转向信号激活
系统接收到车辆发出的转向信号或判定其即将或正在进行转向操作时，自动激活目标转向区域一侧。
