1     SCOPE

This document specifies the measurement methods of maximum torque and maximum net power of engines for motorcycles and mopeds.

This document applies to the engines for motorcycles and mopeds (hereinafter referred to as “engines”).

3     TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1

Net power

the power available on the test bench at the end of the crankshaft at the speed specified by the manufacturer, together with the accessories listed in Table 2

Note: If the power can be measured only with the gearbox fitted to the engine, the efficiency of the gearbox should be taken into account.
