1 SCOPE

This document specifies the content, format, material and affixing requirements of energy consumption label for light-duty vehicles.

This document is applicable to Categories M1, M2 and N1 vehicles, fueled with gasoline or diesel, with a maximum design total mass not exceeding 3,500 kg, but not applicable to the off-vehicle-chargeable hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles, or vehicles designed to run on a single fuel only other than gasoline and diesel.

3 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 19596 and the following apply.

3.1 energy consumption label

a label intended for indicating the energy consumption and related information

Note: The energy consumption described in this document is the fuel consumption. The energy consumption label is hereafter referred to as “label”.

3.2 top runner fuel consumption

the calculated value of combined fuel consumption of the top 5% vehicle models which have the minimum combined fuel consumption based on the mass of vehicle type.

Note: The mass of vehicle type shall be consistent with the complete vehicle kerb mass (CM) used in GB 19578 and GB 20997.
