The Protection of the Occupants in the Event of an Off-Set Frontal Collision for Passenger Car

1. SCOPE

This Standard specifies technical requirements and test methods for the protection of occupants in the front outboard seats in the event of an off-set frontal collision for passenger car.
This Standard applies to Category M1 vehicles with a maximum design total mass not exceeding 2,500 kg, while Category M1 vehicles with a maximum design total mass exceeding 2,500 kg and other categories of vehicles may refer to this standard.

2. NORMATIVE REFERENCES

The following normative documents contain provision which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications (excluding corrigenda) do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this Standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the Standards indicated below for undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.
