1 Scope
\n1.1 This standard establishes limits for various types of surface discontinuities on nuts.
\nIt applies to nuts with
\n\u2014 nominal thread diameters from 5 mm up to and including 39 mm;
\n\u2014 product grades A and B;
\n\u2014 all property classes according to GB\/T 3098.2 and GB\/T 3098.4, unless otherwise specified in product standards or agreed between supplier and purchaser.
\n1.2 Where the permissible limits for surface discontinuities indicated in clause 3 occur, the minimum values for the mechanical and functional properties specified in GB\/T 3098.2, GB\/T 3098.4 and GB\/T 3098.9 shall still be met. Additionally, the dimensional requirements of the relevant product standards shall also be met.

\n1 The figures in clause 3 are examples only. They apply correspondingly also to other types of bolts, screws and studs.
\n2 The individual figures show the surface discontinuities exaggerated in some cases for clarity.
