1 Scope
\nThis part of GB\/T 38698 specifies the terms and definitions, classification requirements, general requirements, packing requirements, transporting requirements and marking requirements for recycling of decommissioned traction battery used in electric vehicle.
\nThis part is applicable to the packing and road transporting of decommissioned lithium ion traction battery pack, battery module and battery cell used in electric vehicle. Other types of traction battery used in electric vehicle and other transporting modes (such as railway transportation and waterway transportation, etc.) may be implemented by reference to it.
\nThis part is not applicable to lead-acid batteries.<\/p>\n

3 Terms and definitions<\/p>\n
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB\/T 19596 and GB\/T 8226 apply.<\/p>\n
4 Classification requirements<\/p>\n
4.1 Before packing and transporting, the safety of decommissioned traction battery shall be judged and then classified according to their safety characteristics. The classification process is shown in Figure 1.
\n4.2 The consignee and the consignor shall jointly judge the safety of the decommissioned traction battery according to the test items given in Annex A. If there are traces of manual dismantling and there is no corresponding maintenance or unpacking record, unpacking inspection shall be conducted to avoid risk.
\n4.3 If the inspection results of all items specified in Annex A are \u201cNo\u201d, the batteries shall be deemed as passing the safety judgment; if not less than one of the inspection results are \u201cYes\u201d, the batteries shall be deemed as failing to pass the safety judgment.<\/p>\n
