This Standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for vertical flammability characteristics of certain category automobile interior materials.
\nThis Standard is applicable to the window curtains, sunshades and\/or other interior suspended materials for Category M3 vehicles which is designed to carry more than 22 passengers, but is not applicable to the urban buses with standing passengers.<\/p>\n
2 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS<\/p>\n
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.<\/p>\n

\nBurning rate
\n\u201cBurning rate\u201d means the ratio of the burnt distance to the time consumed, expressed in mm\/min.

\nInterior material
\n\u201cInterior material\u201d means the window curtains, sunshades and\/or other interior suspended materials.<\/p>\n
3 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
The burning rate shall not exceed 100 mm\/min.<\/p>\n
4 TEST METHODS<\/p>\n
4.1 Principle<\/p>\n
Vertically fix the sample on a rectangular frame and ignite the sample with a specified flame in the combustion chamber to determine the sample burnt distance and the time consumed.<\/p>\n
