This standard specifies the positions, strength requirements and test methods of safety-belt anchorages, ISOFIX anchorages systems and their top tether anchorages for child restraint systems of vehicles.
\nThis standard applies to vehicles of categories M and N with regard to their anchorages for safety-belts intended for adult occupants of forward-facing and rearward-facing seats.
\nThis standard also applies to vehicles of category M1 and N1 with regard to their ISOFIX anchorage systems and their ISOFIX top tether anchorages intended for child restraint systems.<\/p>\n

3 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS<\/p>\n
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.<\/p>\n

\nVehicle type
\n“Vehicle type” means a category of power-driven vehicles, which do not differ in such essential respects as the dimensions, lines and materials of components of the vehicle structure or seat structure to which the safety-belts anchorages and the ISOFIX anchorages systems and ISOFIX top tether anchorages are attached. If the dynamic test is carried out, the characteristics of any component of the restraint system, especially the load limiter, having an influence on the forces applying to the safety-belt anchorages shall not differ.

\nBelt anchorage
\n“Belt anchorage” means the parts of the vehicle structure or the seat structure or any other part of the vehicle to which the safety-belt assemblies are to be installed and secured.<\/p>\n
