1 SCOPE<\/p>\n
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for motorcycle headlamps (hereinafter referred to as the headlamps) equipped with filament light sources.
\nThis standard is applicable to all types of headlamps equipped on motorcycles (excluding mopeds) of categories L3, L4 and L5.<\/p>\n

The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. At time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated below.

3 DEFINITIONS<\/p>\n
For the purpose of this standard, the terms and definitions given in GB 4599 apply.<\/p>\n
4 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
4.1 General requirements
\n4.1.1 Headlamp should be so designed and manufactured that under the condition of normal use, it can still meet the requirements for use and comply with the light distribution requirements given in this standard even when it is subject to vibration.
\n4.1.2 For bulb installation of semi-sealed beam headlamps (replaceable bulb), the bulb should be mounted at the correct position even it is dark, and the positioning clamp can enter into the positioning groove accurately (appropriate tolerance match), moreover, the bulb is significantly skewed when it was installed at a wrong position.
\n4.1.3 The light color of headlamps should be white. Its chromaticity characteristics should comply with the provisions in GB 4785.
\nLight source A of standard lighting body (color temperature is 2856 K) that is equivalent to the one specified in GB\/T 3978 should be used for checking the chromaticity coordinates. But for sealed beam headlamps (non-replaceable bulb), measure their chromaticity coordinates under test voltage.
\n4.2 Sealed beam headlamps, bulbs and lamp holders
\n4.2.1 The nominal voltage of sealed beam headlamps is 6V or 12V, and photoelectric parameters like power are agreed between manufacturer and user.
\n4.2.2 Bulbs used for semi-sealed beam headlamps are: S1, S2 or HS1, and the bulbs should comply with the provisions specified in GB 15766.1.
\n4.2.3 Lamp holders used for semi-sealed beam headlamps should comply with the provisions specified in IEC Publication 61-2.<\/p>\n
