1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This document is applicable to the seats of the vehicles of categories M and N and the head restraints intended for the aforesaid seats (excluding the rearward-facing seats and the head restraints installed on these seats, and the seat systems intended for child occupants). For the seats and head restraints intended for other vehicles, this document may be used as a reference.<\/div>\n
Considering the adjustment of application scope arising from the changes in such factors as laws & regulations, applicable product standards, technologies and industry policies, the announcement issued by the CAV shall prevail.<\/div>\n

2. CERTIFICATION MODE<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The certification mode for the automobile seats and head restraints is Type Test + Initial Factory Inspection + Post-Certification Supervision.<\/div>\n
The certification includes the following basic steps:<\/div>\n
a. Application for certification<\/div>\n
b. Product type test<\/div>\n
c. Initial factory inspection<\/div>\n
d. Evaluation and approval of certification result<\/div>\n
e. Post-certification supervision<\/div>\n
The initial factory inspection is carried out in the manner of review of conformity of production (CoP) control plan + CoP factory on-site inspection. As the production organization mode and product features vary, differentiated CoP checks and post-certification supervisions may apply in specific implementation.<\/div>\n

3. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATION<\/div>\n

3.1 Defining the Certification Unit<\/div>\n
In principle, the automobile seats and head restraints, produced by the same producer (manufacturer) and same manufacturing enterprise (site), which do not significantly differ in the following respects, can be defined as one certification unit:<\/div>\n
