\n1 Scope<\/p>\n
This Standard defines terms and codes for masses of road vehicles as defined in ISO 3833, with the exclusions indicated below, where these road vehicles are in condition as first manufactured; they may be complete road vehicles or otherwise. The codes are intended to be used for the exchange of vehicle data and electronic processing.
\nThis Standard does not cover the following vehicles:<\/p>\n
— Specially designed vehicles for uses other than the transport of passengers and\/or goods;
\n— Motorcycles and mopeds, which are covered by ISO 6726; and<\/p>\n
— Towed caravans, which are covered by ISO 7237.<\/p>\n
This Standard does not specify measuring procedures, units to be used or tolerances.<\/p>\n
