1.1. This Standard stipulates testing and calculation methods for fuel consumption using the carbon balance method by measuring CO2, CO and HC emitted from a vehicle in simulated urban and extra-urban cycle modes, and methods for checking and verifying production conformity.
\n1.2. This Standard applies to Category M1 vehicles with maximum design speed greater than or equal to 50 km\/h powered by positive ignition or compression ignition engines, Category N1 vehicles and Category M2 vehicles with a maximum total design mass of up to 3,500 kg.
\n1.3. This Standard does not apply to vehicles that do not use petrol or diesel as fuel.<\/p>\n
