\n1 General<\/p>\n
1.1 Scope
\nThis part applies to lamps (either filament or gas-discharge type) to be used in headlamps, fog-lamps and signaling lamps for road vehicles, especially those lamps which may be the subject of legislation. In particular, it covers those lamps contained
\nin the Regulations No. 37 and No. 99 of the Geneva Agreement of March 20th 1958 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE).
\nThis part specifies the test methods for production lamps and standard lamps, as well as the technical requirements for the basic interchangeability (dimensions, electrical and luminous performance). Most requirements are set out in the related \u201cdata sheets\u201d. As for all the lamps listed in Chapter 5, the data sheets are provided herein. Performance requirements such as lamp life, lumen maintenance, torsion strength and resistance to vibration and shock are specified in GB\/T 15766.2. Information such as temperature limits and maximum lamp outlines is also included in GB\/T15766.2 for guidance of lighting equipment design.
\nRoad vehicle lamps for supplementary purposes which are not the subject of legislation are specified in GB\/T 15766.3.
\nUpon development of approval regulation, it is suggested that reference is made to this part for assessment of production compliance. GB\/T 15766.2 and GB\/T 15766.3 are not intended for such purpose.
\nNote: In various glossaries and standards, different terms are used for \u201cincandescent lamp\u201d (845-07-04 under GB\/T 2900.65) and \u201cdischarge lamp\u201d (845-07-17 under GB\/T 2900.65). In this part, \u201cfilament lamp\u201d and \u201cdischarge lamp\u201d are adopted, respectively. For the individually used word \u201clamp\u201d, nevertheless, both categories are referred to, unless it is clearly stipulated in the context that it is used just to indicate any one category.
