1 Scope
This standard specifies the controllability and stability test procedures for automobile – pylon course slalom test, steering transient response test (steering wheel angle step input and steering wheel angle impulse input), returnability test, steering efforts test procedure, steady static circular test procedure and on-centre handling of steering wheel.
The controllability and stability test procedures for automobile – pylon course slalom test, steering transient response test (steering wheel angle step input and steering wheel angle impulse input), returnability test and steering efforts test procedure apply to vehicles of type M, N and G, steady static circular test procedure applies to biaxial vehicles of type M, N and G, and the controllability and stability test procedure for automobile – on-centre handling of steering wheel applies to vehicles of type M1 and N1. Other types of vehicles may refer to this standard.
