1 SCOPE

This standard specifies the limits and measurement methods for exhaust smoke emissions with respect to the type approval, conformity of production (COP) check and in-service conformity (ISC) check tests of motorcycles and mopeds.

This standard applies to the motorcycles and mopeds.

3 DEFINITIONS

For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1 motorcycles and mopeds

Motorcycle: A two- or three-wheeled motor vehicle equipped with a spark-ignition engine, with a complete vehicle kerb mass 400 kg, an engine displacement  50 cc, or a maximum design speed  50 km/h.

Moped: A two- or three-wheeled motor vehicle equipped with a spark-ignition engine, with a complete vehicle kerb mass  400 kg, an engine displacement  50 cc, and a maximum design speed  50 km/h.
